A sustainable solution is pertinent to save humanity from microplastic pollution and its detrimental effect on human life. Non-biodegradable single use plastics need an immediate alternative solution to sustainable biobased products. At FieldInnovate, our mission is to establish sustainable ramie cultivation in the USA using advanced agricultural techniques. We aim to optimize fiber yield through eco-friendly farming and precision drone technology. By implementing innovative fiber extraction methods, we reduce waste and promote environmental responsibility. Our goal is to create a scalable, sustainable supply chain for ramie-based products across various industries. Our larger objective is to produce other bio-based fibers like jute, bamboo, banana, pineapple etc. along with ramie to replace end products made of non biodegradable plastics and an effort to save humanity from the curse of microplastic pollution.

Our Focus Areas

Ramie Cultivation in Southern Mississippi

We aim to introduce ramie farming in the southern Mississippi region, where the climate and soil conditions are ideal. Our cultivation methods prioritize sustainability through ridge and furrow planting, which enhances fiber yield and minimizes environmental impact. Additionally, recycled plant waste from the decortication process will be used as organic fertilizer, reducing dependency on chemical alternatives.

Precision Agriculture with Drone Technology

We integrate state-of-the-art drone technology to monitor plant health, growth, and propagation. Using high-resolution RGB (100 MP) and multispectral cameras, we gather precise data on:

  • Plant stress levels (stressed vs. unstressed)
  • Growth rates and canopy volume
  • Overall crop health

Advanced deep learning models analyze this data to optimize cultivation strategies. Our cloud-based platform enables real-time analytics and remote decision-making, benefiting farmers and researchers alike.

Sustainable Fiber Extraction & Processing

Our approach to fiber isolation involves mechanical decortication followed by an innovative enzymatic degumming process. Unlike traditional alkali treatments, which generate hazardous waste, our further innovation to enzyme degumming process to eutectic solution method removes hemicellulose, lignin, and pectin while preserving fiber integrity. This eco-friendly extraction enhances ramie fiber quality for various applications.
